India's demand for electronic products has grown significantly in recent years, driven by its position as the second-largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world and the increase in internet penetration rates. The government of India considers electronics hardware manufacturing a crucial pillar of the Make in India, Digital India and Start-up India programmes. The Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sector is critical in achieving the government's goal of generating $1 trillion of economic value from the digital economy by 2025. With various initiatives to promote domestic manufacturing, India has already seen an increase in production and assembly activities for products such as mobile phones and consumer electronics.
